Month 2 - Week 1 - Day 6: Betrayal

Today, my mother told me that I betrayed her. 

I went behind her back, and told my dad that the kids playroom still wasn't finished, and that he needed to tell her to get it done, but not to mention that I told him. But she knew.

So, huffing and puffing about how her own flesh and blood betrayed her, I drove her to Ikea where she was forced to buy a new dresser, curtains, an art easel, bed comforter, comforter cover, rug, and a couple of other cute things.

By the time we got home with everything and put it all into the room (note that the boxes are in the room, but the dresser still needs to be built) she was still feeling betrayed but at least happy about it. Just putting the curtains up (for a closet door, not for the window) made a huge difference.

I also bought a strand of LED lights for my room. I attached them to a large picture I had stored in my closet for three years (took the glass and backer out) and then hung the frame over my headboard. I'm really happy with how it turned out. Now, I just want to figure out a way to hide the cord that drapes down the wall.  I think I actually saw something a Ikea that does this, and with a coat of paint it would blend right in (but that is a trip for another day)

Before we went home, we had to run a few other errand, and my mom was hungry. She asked me to stop at In'N'Out to get her a burger and fries. It smelled so good in my car, but I resisted and didn't even eat one french fry (I reminded myself that even when I'm not dieting I don't like their food. I like Five Guys). 

Overall, I feel like today was a really good, and productive, day.

Today's Goals

1. Revise 15 pages of the Manuscript - Done
2. Write up revision changes for Manuscript
3. Email Job Recruiter back - Done  
4. Work on outline for the Guild Post
5. Read one chapter of gladiator book  - Done ( Adding this to my list has really helped. I only have three chapters left to read. I've owned this book for two years, I never got this far. I've also been highlighting stuff that I could use in my manuscript.)
6. Do 2 pattern repeats for Clapotis
7. Free write new story

Tomorrow's Goals
