Back in the Saddle...again

What a crazy year I've had. Now, at the start of a new year, I find myself circling back. My health took a turn for the not so good over the past six months. I've had to get back on regular doses of steroids and my weight is back up around 165lbs.

In another effort to get things under control, I have started to see a new doctor. She had drawn so much blood from me in the past few months I'm surprised there is any left inside me, but it was worth it. I'm slowing starting to get better.

We discovered that I am deficient in the following things:

  • Iron
  • Magnesium
  • Vitamin D
  • Vitamin B
And my progesterone level is low :/

So now I'm taking a bunch of daily supplements and vitamins. We also tested me for any food sensitivities (Not like a peanut allergy but foods that can irritate or inflame the body at lower less noticeable levels.)

Apparently, I'm highly sensitive to eggs, which have always been a normal part of my diet.
I should also avoid mushrooms, excessive honey, yeast, cranberries, and wheat.

The doctor is also concerned that since I am overweight I may have sleep apnea which could be contributing to my tiredness. She wants me to lose 15 lbs.

What to do... :P

Time for Medifast! That's what to do. I know it works. I know how it works. I know my TRAPS Syndrome cleared up the last time I was on it because it is a clean diet. This is really a no-brainer.

Today was my first day on plan and I didn't feel cravings for anything.

I ate yummy chicken breast with roasted radishes and cabbage for my lean and green. (Left overs are going to work tomorrow for my lunch.)

I had a nice two-hour video chat with my friend Anna. We talked a lot about setting smaller goals for ourselves so that we don't feel overwhelmed and then freak-out and do nothing. We talked a lot about our writing goals and what we need to do to get back on track. It was good talking with her. We finished with me sharing a YouTube video that my friend Liz shared with me this week... and I watched Anna die from laughter (Then she got her husband and made him watch and we all had tears in our eyes from laughing so hard.) To end my first post back, I'm sharing that video with you.
