Day 2 - Sweet tooth and tea

Did good today, but it's evening now and I'm craving something sweet. I knew I would run into this problem before the start of the challenge so I did a preemptive strike. I tossed out the last popsicle in the freezer. That chocolate bar I'd been slowly nibbling at... in the trash can. Almost empty bag of white cheddar popcorn, trashed.

I have made a promise to myself that while I'm on this challenge I will not buy junk food. The only snack food I'm allowed to buy is fruit (green grapes = yummy). However, my debit card hit a snag this past week and I have to wait for a new one to come in the mail. That means I only have credit cards and I don't want to charge them for unnecessary stuff.

What's a girl to do then? Well, if you're this girl, you pull out some tea. Mulberry tea has a naturally sweet taste, which is crazy because its actually good at helping you lose weight by blocking sugars. That's right! It controls the absorption of glucose, helping decrease the amount of sugar in a person's blood.

I also love Pomegranate Green tea. This is a great antioxidant, and helps lower cholesterol.

Lastly, in the last several months, I've started to drink nettle tea. That's right. I drink tea made from the stinging nettle plant. It's got a nice herbal taste. It's not over-powering and I don't need to add any sweetener to it to make it "taste better." Also, the health benefits are CRAZY. The two major reasons why I started to drink it are because it helps with asthma and it reduces inflammation in the body (remember my autoinflammatory condition?)

Reasons you should be drinking Nettle tea

  13. Reduces gingivitis and prevents plaque when used as a mouth wash.

  1. Strengthens the fetus in pregnant women

But there are even more benefits. These are just some that I pulled off this site.
