Month 2 - Week 3 - Day 4: Foolish Mortals

A friend, who is very into wigs, bought a new wig. She dared to call it curly and issued a challenge against my own hair today.

Obviously, I mopped the floor with her "curly" wig. Please. It was more like unbrushed hair. Foolish mortal knows her place now ;D

In other news, second day back on the plan went well. No food struggles today. Spent several hours babysitting the two-month-old niece today. She slept... mostly... in my arms. Anytime I tried to put her down she woke up and cried. She finally passed out against my shoulder... and then my sister arrived like 10 minutes later. Of course.

Oh well. Baby is so cute.

After that I checked on my work for the contract job. Checked my email to see that the PHD program responded with all the stuff that I need to gather and submit for my application, including this little bit--
Academic Writing Sample - Please submit an academic writing sample, preferably pertaining to mythology, religious studies, literature, psychology, or the arts. The piece may be a term paper you have written in the past, a publication, a work in progress, or a new piece of work. This paper should be a minimum of 10 pages.
So, that will be fun. (I haven't written heavy academic stuff in a long while.) I think I'm going to write about religion in the Halo video game franchise. Afterall, part of the main reason I want to get into this program is to help me create better video games (deeper understanding of myth is valuable to good epic storylines).

Wish me luck.
